Mastix Medica was created from the acquisition of Koko's Confectionery private label manufacturing business. It is one of the largest manufacturers of tableted candy/mint products in the U.S with customers ranging from a global toy company to promotional product companies.

With the ability to manufacture tableted candy products ranging in many sizes and flavors, Mastix Medica can provide customers with a variety that meets their needs. We currently have a multitude of tooling shapes that can be made into candy with a relatively short lead time. However, we will also work with you to design tooling to create your own unique look. Maybe your logo? Or an animal that reflects who you are? Or a replica of your CEO? (maybe not!). There are endless designs that can be created.

Mastix Medica is currently the only contract manufacturer of tableted candy in the United States that can put a hole in the center of each piece.

Size and shape are not the only items that can be customized. We can customize the flavor, the color, and the main ingredient. Products can be made with a dextrose, sorbitol or Xylitol base.

Products (Pharmaceuticals)

The pharmaceutical arena changes often as companies look for new products, new ingredients and new delivery systems. These factors are important to provide consumers with a pharmaceutical product that can ease their symptoms with the least possible interruption to their daily routines.

Mastix Medica was created by a pharmaceutical industry executive with the goal of developing niche healthcare products in underutilized, emerging dosage forms like chewing gum and chewable tablets.

Because we make our own powdered gum base, Mastix Medica is the only gum manufacturer in the world, that can customize formulas in a cold pressed tableted gum product. Other gum products using the conventional extruded method of manufacturing often contain far less of their listed ingredients due to high temperature needed to extrude the gum. Because Mastix Medica uses a cold pressed tableting process, what is put into the gum is what shows up in the finished product. This method also ensures a higher level of content uniformity from tablet to tablet, making certain that the consumer receives the dose reflected on the package. With the manufacturing process used by Mastix Medica, active ingredients** can now be supplied to the body through the buccal cavity – simply by chewing gum.

Chewing gum products have many advantages versus other oral dosage forms:

•  Fast acting: many times faster absorption than tablets or capsules

•  Convenient and discreet: does not require any liquid for swallowing

•  Widely acceptable and very familiar to consumers

•  High bioavailability of ingredients: avoid hepatic first pass metabolism in stomach and liver

•  Increased compliance in people with swallowing difficulties like geriatrics or children

Chewing gum products made using a direct compression tableting offers significant advantages over conventionally manufactured gum products made using an extrusion process:

•  Active ingredients and supplements released faster

•  Active ingredients and supplements remain active unlike extrusion products that use high heat during the process which can inactivate the active ingredients

•  High content uniformity of active ingredients and supplements from tablet to tablet
