About Us

Mastix Medica was created in 2009 with the acquisition of the Private Label Division of Koko's Confectionery & Novelty. Operating from a 28,000 square foot facility just north of Baltimore in Hunt Valley, Maryland, we currently manufacture tableted chewing gum and mints for contract and private label customers. While maintaining our confectionery roots, we have an in-house product development team that is also actively developing custom tablet formulations that incorporate supplements for companies competing in growing markets like energy, cosmeceutical, weight loss and dental. Developing our own niche, generic pharmaceutical products in emerging dosage forms is a longer term goal for us.

We specialize in developing and manufacturing tableted healthcare, functional foods and confectionery items. Our tableted gum is made using a proprietary direct compression process which provides a better, more accurate delivery mechanism for active ingredients and supplements. We also make our own gum powder which allows us significant custom develop capabilities and provides for a quick turnaround of the finished product. Because
we use a powdered gum base, the content uniformity of the actives is significantly
better than other conventionally manufactured chewing gum products.
